"ALWAYS ON LAWN PATROL"

MOWING IS NOT A SIMPLE SERVICE:

Caring for a lawn can take a lot of work, which can be time consuming and energy draining. At W.R.C. LAWN SERVICES we take pride in providing quality services to all customers and clients.

Mowing is the most important when it comes to keeping the lawn looking nice for the neighbors and having a solid base for all other yard services. It is also one of the more affordable lawn care service options covered in this guide. When it comes to how often a lawn should be mowed, the focus should be on the length of the grass blades and not on any specific timeline. This is because if grass is cut too short, it can put stress on the lawn and weaken it.

The amount of sun and water a lawn has gotten can determine how fast grass grows in a given time period. Additionally, the faster that grass grows, the more often it needs to be cut. To cut through some of the confusion, a good rule to consistently follow is the One-Third Rule. According to this rule, one must never cut blades of grass more than one-third of their height. This typically times out to mowing every 1-2 weeks during spring and fall months and every week during summer months, but it is still very much subjective. There could also be some variations with different grass types.

WHY HIRE W.R.C.?

For most kids, mowing a lawn is like a right of passage. It’s the first big chore they have around the house, and in the summer, kids spend at least one afternoon a week pushing the lawn mower around the yard.

But as kids grow up, their schedules change. They have softball games, band practice, dance lessons and basketball practices to attend and not to mention going to school and studying at night. When their schedules become too packed, something’s got to give, and it’s usually their chores like mowing the lawn.

Like most homeowners, you may be torn. You love having a beautiful, well-manicured lawn, but you just don’t have the time or want to make the time to mow it yourself. You may know the gopher holes and hills of your yard better than anyone, but if making time to mow the lawn can’t be done, then it’s time to call us.

Hiring W.R.C. Lawn Service to mow your lawn can make you feel as if a weight has been lifted off your back. Here’s why you should hire a professional to mow your lawn and maybe take care of a few other things such as pressure washing services around your home.

IT’S OFTEN NECESSARY:

Even if you don’t hire our service, just know that every homeowner is required to clear all sidewalks along their property within a specified window or they may be fined. Each town and city has their own rules and regulations, so be sure to look up yours. Landlords in Baton Rouge, La. are also legally obligated to keep all egresses free from obstructions, which includes branches and leaves, which pose significant fire hazards. Lastly, don't forget your mail carrier. You’ll have to make a path to your mailbox that’s reasonably clear of high grass and disruptive tree branches, or delivery may be delayed.

HERE TO SERVE YOU:

W.R.C. offers full lawn service with clean up. Give us a call (225)-317-9465 and we’ll be happy to mow your lawn. We also offer vacation-only service to take care of lawn while you're away. Not only will it look like someone is home, but you will return to a beautiful, well groomed yard.

TIPS FOR MOWING

1. Maintain High Cut.

2. Do not remove more than one-third of the leafblades.

3. If it has been a while since your lawn was last mowed and the clippings are longer and heavier, bag them rather than leaving them in the grass. Small grassclippings can have a positive mulching effect, but larger ones can be harmful to a lawn.

4. Switch up the direction in which you cut each time

5. Recycle grass waste. Never send them to the dump. Grass clippings are extremely beneficial organic matter.

6. Make sure your mower blades are sharp.
